Nor Cal Regionals Results and Thoughts
Posted by Orlando | Posted in Gaming | Posted on 23-11-2009
Nor Cal Regionals 2009 has now come to an end and I must say it was the best tournament that I have even personally attended. Big props to Choi, iplaywinner KS2 productions, Mr Wizard, Kineda, and everyone else for coordinating a great event. I competed in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo: HD Remix and Street Fighter 4. I won 1 game in winners bracket and a 1 game in losers bracket for both events. Pretty happy with my performance but I think I still have a lot of leveling up to do. After I was knocked out of both tournaments, I had the pleasure of watching some sick matches between some of the nations best fighters. Videos will be posted soon.

It’s that time of year again folks. Northern California’s biggest fighting game tournament of the year and one of the most participated majors of the year. It will be held on Nov 21-22 in Sunnyvale, CA at the Domain Hotel. This will be the first major I will have ever entered and I am pretty excited. I plan on entering Super Turbo 2 HD Remix and Street Fighter IV. Stay tuned for more information.

Jollibee Street Fighter IV Tournament – SAN JOSE, CA
Posted by Orlando | Posted in Gaming | Posted on 29-09-2009
There was a tournament held at the Jollibee in San Jose, CA last weekend. Some of Norcal’s best were in attendance (Ricky Ortiz, Filipino Champ, Crackfiend, and John Choi who spectated the event). People seem to be getting pretty hyped for the upcoming Norcal Regionals coming up in November (www.norcalregionals.com) I played decent but went up against a Boxer which came down to the last round in the last set and Allen Chang’s beastly Cammy. Tied for 17th place in this tournament.

I recently joined the Street Fighter Champions and Contenders League. (http://sfccl.weebly.com/) I won 1 out of 2 last week. I was last weeks champion in the White division with Abel as my main and Guile as my secondary. I’ve requested to change characters going into the rest of the season (Blanka/Balrog). Those are probably my 2 strongest characters.

My first tournament for Street Fighter IV. I had been playing for little over a week when I joined this tournament. The match rules were best of 3 sets. Check out my video of my 2nd game in winners bracket.
I tied for 17th if the Super Street Fighter II HD Remix.
